Headed "THE SHADOW OF DEATH", this leaflet plays on the VC's fear of death and offers an escape from it through the Chieu Hoi programme. The verse reads:

"Death follows you when you go out

Death follows you when you come in

Disappointed and sad you look at Death

That haunts you all your life because you you follow the VC."

The verse on the reverse side reads:

"The Chieu Hoi light scares away the Shadow of death

It will let you return to enjoy the happiness of your old home.

Your life has experienced winds and rains and too many hardships.

Come back right away: the Government is ready to welcome you."
